Joining the SCHUNK team:
Service Technician
Key Responsibilities
  • Repair all SCHUNK products including but not limited to robotic grippers, mechanical tool accessories including power chucks, tool holders, and fixturing
  • Assemble product fixtures 
  • Inspect, test, trouble shoot and diagnose products or mechanical systems
  • Apply practical knowledge to repair and refurbish damaged and worn products
  • Read blue prints to diagnose and make repairs including but not limited to exploded views, follow prints to assembly, and read tolerances
  • May install and repair products at customer facilities when requested
  • Function as a production department partner and team member
  • Maintain clean and orderly work station through SCHUNK 5S program
  • Follow all SCHUNK production safety rules and policies
  • Participate in the SCHUNK Quality Improvement Program
  • Perform other duties or projects when requested by SCHUNK management

Requirements
  • Use initiative to provide repair service assistance to all departments
  • CNC machining knowledge and understanding a plus
  • Must be self-motivated and work with minimum supervision

Education and/or Experience:

  • A.S. degree in Industrial Systems Technology, Machine Technology or related field or a combination of  education, training and experience

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand manuals, diagrams, schematics, tables and charts
  • Must have good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively on the phone with customers and employees
  • Ability to read and follow manufacturing order instructions
  • Ability to write simple reports and correspondence

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, divide and multiply
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages 

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot products or mechanical systems
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Computer Skills: 

  • Ability to use PC applications including basic spread sheets, word processing,  Internet and Email
  • Ability to use or learn to use in-house sales/order applications as they relate to repairs and service

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

  • Valid Driver’s License
